Nyborg Kongebryg is one of seven beers we developed in collaboration with Nyborg Castle. It is a traditional pale ale, to which we added a royal, exotic touch of lemon: something only kings could afford in the Middle Ages. It has a lovely, amber colour that comes from the caramelised malts we have used for this beer. It has a wonderful citrus and banana aroma, together with a nice crisp, sweet, malt fragrance. The taste is full-bodied and sweet with penetrating notes of citrus.
The exotic touch of citrus means that Nyborg Kongebryg goes well with tasty fish and chicken dishes. Given its rich depth and full flavour, it also goes very well with juicy rare steaks straight from the barbecue.
